Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA)
19th Annual Premedical Conference

When: Saturday, February 13, 2010

Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA) is a coalition of Stanford medical students, including representatives from the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) and Stanford American Indigenous Medical Students (SAIMS) committed to recruiting and retaining underrepresented medical professionals. The goal of the SUMMA is to increase the number of minorities in the health professional fields in order to better serve African American, Latino and Native American communities.

UCSC's 23rd Annual Multicultural
Career Conference

Taking UCSC Home
is a volunteer opportunity for UCSC students to return to their community colleges during spring break (March 22-26) to share their UCSC experiences with newly admitted and prospective students. All students are trained on how to conduct a UCSC presentation and accurately represent the University. Apply by January 31 at http://admissions.ucsc.edu/volunteers. You must be in good academic and judicial standing. Contact Bea Atkinson-Myers at 459-2352 or hfrogg@ucsc.edu for more inforamtion.

The WRITE (Writing and Research Intensive for Transfer Excellence)
program offers you writing assistance on a consistent basis throughout the quarter. You will work individually with a peer writing mentor in researching your papers to help you gain confidence and new skills in writing at the university level. The UCSC SACNAS Student Chapter welcomes new members, and will be conducting community meetings in the upcoming FALL QUARTER. Membership of the chapter includes opportunities in OUTREACH, SOCIAL EVENTS, MENTORSHIP, TUTORING, as well as SCHOLARSHIPS for the SACNAS Conference 2010.
